Tony uses acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) to explain how holding onto our fears, worries, and anxieties can get in the way of progress. He uses the “ACT in a nutshell metaphor” from Russ Harris’s book ACT Made Simple and he shares the “Pop up thoughts” exercise from Harris’s book The Confidence Gap. Tony explains how ACT helps to put our thoughts through the ultimate test of whether or not they are workable, or productive.
